This month’s alumni spotlight celebrates ESEO graduates reaching new milestones in entrepreneurship, leadership, and innovation. From M&A and circular industry to nuclear fusion and data governance, these four profiles illustrate the remarkable variety of paths an engineering degree can open. Whether scaling a startup, stepping into a strategic role, or developing breakthrough technologies, they continue to push their careers—and their industries—forward.
Florian LEGINY (ESEO 2017) has been promoted to M&A Director at Largillière Finance, a leading advisory firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions for growth companies. Having joined the firm nearly ten years ago as a Junior Analyst, Florian has played a key role in more than forty transactions, supporting entrepreneurs and investors in their strategic development projects.
His promotion reflects both his expertise in M&A and Largillière Finance’s commitment to developing talent from within. It also marks an important milestone in a career built on dedication, client trust, and a strong entrepreneurial mindset.
Maxime ROUX (ESEO 2015), co-founder of Ostrea, has been shortlisted for the EY Entrepreneur of the Year 2026 – Western France award. Founded in 2022, Ostrea is an industrial startup pioneering circular economy solutions by transforming oyster, mussel, and scallop shells into low-carbon materials for design and construction.
Using a patented technology, the company produces sustainable materials made from more than 60% recycled shells, offering an innovative alternative to ceramics and stone. Already adopted in over 450 projects by organizations such as AXA, the Élysée, and Christian Louboutin, Ostrea continues to demonstrate how industrial innovation can drive environmental transition.
Sam GUILAUME (ESEO 1990), CEO of Renaissance Fusion, recently saw his company featured in Challenges magazine’s special report on the “Future Unicorns 2026”, highlighting Europe’s most promising deeptech companies. The article recognizes Renaissance Fusion as one of the startups poised to transform the energy sector through nuclear fusion technology.
The company was also singled out by Challenges with a special distinction for its groundbreaking work in stellarator-based fusion reactors. With a team of 120 employees representing 27 nationalities, Renaissance Fusion aims to commercialize its first reactors by 2035, while already developing complementary innovations in liquid metals and high-temperature superconductors. This recognition reinforces Sam’s position at the forefront of Europe's deeptech and clean energy ecosystem.
Olivia KAZAN PHAN (ESEO 2018) has been appointed Head of Data Governance at Chanel, after previously serving as Head of Data & AI Culture at Kering. This new role marks another major milestone in a career dedicated to data strategy and transformation within leading international companies.
After starting as a Data Architect, Olivia has held key data positions at Carrefour, Danone, Sephora, and Kering. Her move to Chanel places her at the heart of data governance for one of the world’s most iconic luxury houses, reflecting the growing strategic importance of data and AI in the industry.
